Catriona MacDonald

Catriona started learning clarsach with the late Jean Campbell in the 60's. For several years she was a "closet clarsach player", but when an opportunity arose for her to teach music in the local 50 pupil primary school in Shetland, she took the opportunity, and while there, introduced clarsach. This was a first for Shetland at that time, and she had several enthusiastic pupils. When she came to Aberdeen, Catriona joined the first clarsach class run by SC@T, and several thereafter. In recent years, Catriona has been involved with the North East Branch of the Clarsach Society, Harps of Gold, and plays locally with friends. Playing clarsach and making friends go hand in hand..
