SCaT
Success at the MOD

Local Aberdeen band “Rapach” took first place in the Gaelic Folk Band competition at the recent MOD in Stornoway.

Rapach (gaelic for disorganised/slovenly!) is made up of SCAT regulars Deirdre Mactaggart (vocals), Robbie Leask (guitar) and Gus MacDonald (guitar and bodhran) along with Marsaili MacLeod (vocals), Robbie Rogers (piano) and Ray Leonard (double bass).

The band performed two pieces, the first a slow air and the second a selection of Puirt a Buel’s. The winning songs went out live on Radio nan Gaidheal on the day of the competition and have also been recorded by the BBC to go out sometime in the New Year.

Well done Rapach.
