Songs for Singing - Aberdeen City and Shire

cover_for_web.jpgThis compilation of traditional songs and new songs in the tradition was launched on Saturday 9th June at the Banchory Shaw.

From Deeside, a Braemar Poacher, the Warlock Laird of Skene and the Plooman Lad all feature.

From Aberdeen we have songs featuring Scarties Monument (over an old sewage outfall at Torry), the traffic problems in and around Aberdeen (We’re nae Gaun East or West) and the bridge that did not fit (Holburn Bridge Song). index index (64.50 KB)

The launch took place at a singing session in the West Church in the centre of Banchory.

After the launch the book will be availble from the office (£5 including CD - P&P extra)and at other events held by SCaT,
