Burns - Open Mic at the Tunnels

Encouraging old and new talent

The Tunnels was the venue for the first participant Open Mic night.  These events have been set up to give individuals and groups from the SC&T classes, an opportunity to perform before an audience to develop their skills and confidence.

Open Mic performersFrom the novices of the Song 1 class led by Maggie Trickey, to a new group formed by Ian McDonagh, to the singers Richard Ward and Barbara Warren, with the youngsters represented by Kirsten and Ally Forsyth and the experienced musicians in Irene Watt and Graham White, and then Tim Jones and Peter Saunders who joined the Tutor group led by Kenny Hadden to round off the evening - there was something for everyone - and a mixture of Burns and other music and song within the tradition.

A great start to a new venture for SC&T - and we are now looking forward to the talent that the February Open Mic Night will bring forward.
