Alexander Technique for Musicians

Class: ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE FOR MUSICIANS
Day: Wednesday


Description:  The Alexander Technique has a long history of helping instrumentalists and singers to perform with less stress and likelihood of injury.  By helping musicians improve the quality of the physical movements involved in playing an instrument or singing, the Alexander Technique aslo help improve the quality of the music itself.  Alexander teachers look at the movements and posture patterns of their students, and help them realise which are effective and which lead to discomfort and pain.  This class is brought to SC&T through popular demand. 

Tutor: Jean McGowan & Jo Gordon

Location: Harlaw Academy

Experience:  None required

Practical tips:  Bring along your instrument/voice/dance shoes so the tutors can get an example of your movement and posture while playing/singing/dancing.

Dates:   Normal SC&T calendar.  

Booking: download the enrolment form  Note due the the specialization of this class, there is a flat fee of £65.
