About Laura
Laura Cortese is a singer, fiddler and songwriter, living in Boston, MA, USA.  She studied at Berklee College of Music, where she developed a unique fiddle style, incorporating driving rhythms and the infamous ‘chop’.  This is her second UK tour, and we are lucky to have her back in Aberdeen!  Make sure you don’t miss out!

The Workshop
Laura's workshop will give participants a taste of her unique ‘fiddle pop’ style.  The group will look at giving rhythmic drive to your tunes, using the fiddle as an accompaniment instrument, and tips on mastering the skill of the ‘chop’.  As previous workshop participants will know, Laura also has a large repertoire of bizarre Quebecois tunes, and some trendy session tunes from America, which she will share.  Suitable for intermediate/advanced (Level 2/3) fiddle players, this workshop will cover some new material, so returning participants are welcome.
