From 17th to 21st October 2005, there has been a week long residential Traditional Music Festival for Aberdeen pupilis in the upper years of Primary School (P5-P7).
The pupils learned from traditional singers and have a range of traditional instruments to choose from - including fiddle, bodhran, whistles, chanter and pipes and clarsach as well as drama, dance, keyboards and crafts. And not forgetting the guitar and songwriting from Scottish Culture and Traditions tutor, Graham Stephen. We welcome this initiative and look forward to many more young people becoming involved in traditional music from this week of activities. More information is available from the Arts Education Team, Summerhill Centre, Stronsay Drive, Aberdeen, AB15 6JA. Tel Linda Lees Hislop 01224 346 358.
