Ali Leith has been a tutor with SC&T since 2006.

Ali LeithAli began playing fiddle at her grandfather's (Benjamin MacGregor Leith) knee and learnt songs and stories from her father. Almost 20 years later she graduated with an honours degree in Scottish Music from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama where she studied fiddle, song, step dance and clarsach

For the past four years Ali has been in demand as a tutor in fiddle and clarsach. She has worked with Celtic Connections, YouthWorks, Feisean nan Gaidheal and recently organised the highly successful Roots Alive Wick project.

Ali currently plays in a duo with Orcadian Jeana Leslie, their music reflects their Nordic roots while taking inspiration from Gaelic culture and jazz. She has also played with the infamous Clachnabrochan Ceilidh Band and traditional music super group Ferley.

Class Updates

Week of 30th January.

The Spring Term started on 16th January.

It is possible to enrol at the Classes desk at Harlaw Academy on class nights between 6:45 and 7pm. All classes are running except Guitar 2 (Wednesdays)

Do go along and support our performers at the Lemon Tree on Saturdays (until 18 February) and join in the session on Tuesdays at O'Donoghue's.
