Spring '24

Join the fantastic Sandy Tweedle for Fiddle 1/2. Suitable for intermediate players looking to improve technique and build tune repertoire

Sandy was taught fiddle by the late Drummond Cook through primary and secondary school giving him a solid foundation in both classical and traditional music. Upon arrival in Aberdeen in the late 80s, Sandy made traditional music his home. He continued to learn from other gifted musicians by playing in sessions and bands in the area and has been a well known face to friends and supporters of SC&T since 2003.

Fiddle 1/2 welcomes students who have played a little fiddle already and who would like to move their experience forward by learning basic airs, marches, jigs, strathspeys and reels. There will be helpful tips on technique. Learning by ear is encouraged although those who need to the initial support of learning with sheet music will be accommodated.

SC&T are using an online platform called Thinkific to support all our classes this term. Thinkific is an online platform where participants can find all supporting lesson material, recordings and music in one place and sign up for the weekly classes.

Price for the term is: £94.50 - this can be paid in one lump sum when you sign up, or in 3 monthly instalments - you can choose your preference when you sign up.
