Aberdeen Collection Showcase
Part of the May Festival -
A celebration with live music of The Aberdeen Collection, Aberdeen University Press's forthcoming book of over 200 contemporary Scottish tunes in a traditional style edited by Helen Lynch and Carley Williams. Musicians Alastair Duthie and Nathan Bissette will play some of the newly composed tunes and Paul Anderson will tell the story of the discovery of some previously unpublished manuscripts of works by James Scott Skinner and play them on the fiddle. This event is organised by WORD Centre Creative Compositions Project in partnership with Scottish Culture & Traditions Association, The Elphinstone Institute and Vibrant Aberdeen.
